Overview
In accordance with the Law # 22 year 2001 regarding Oil & Gas, there are 2 sectors in the Oil & Gas Industry, i.e Upstream and Downstream. Upstream sector covers business activities in exploration , exploitation and field production of oil and natural gas, while downstream sector covers business activities in processing/ refining, storage, distribution, and trading. This work shop will be addressed to the Taxation in Up stream Oil & Gas Sector only.
Currently, there are a lot of issues and development in the Upstream Oil & Gas Sector. The General Tax Laws and implementing regulations have been amended since year 2007, on the other hand from the Production Sharing Contract or Cooperative Contract point of views issue of Cost Recovery is now become important to be discussed.
Once we understand the current regulations on Tax Laws and development in the concept of Production Sharing under the Oil & Gas Law then we will be able to properly plan and manage the compliances to the tax laws and regulations.
In this work shop discussions will be focused on the Amendment of the Tax Laws and the progress of the policy on the Cost Recovery under the Production Sharing Concept.
